June 2022 Review

June days were filled with much family and friend time, but I snuck in some me time with reading and knitting soap socks (shower favor).  Work, and then eventually home life, took my anxiety to a higher level; working with therapist and doctor to understand the causes (therapist thinks ADHD and executive functioning pushed too far with all the activities; doctor has ordered testing).

House continues to be full with kids and girlfriend coming and going.  Hubby and I did have one weekend alone in which we chose to just stay and veg at home.  Dog has been going to daycare and this month there is a bout of diarrhea which he got (doesn’t appear to be serious).  And just as the house was in her prime condition for the graduation party we hosted, she’s also had her better days with all the traffic coming through.

I was greatly inspired by a Rachel Hollis podcast that was just what I needed to get my focus on—and I’m now back to creating my book.

Weather has been great.  Believe we had a storm or two, but we’ve had a lot of sunny days—some on the cooler level where the bedroom window was open for the night and others, like today, where I just look at my deck from the inside of my air conditioned house.

New meals included Summer Chicken Salad with Hot Bacon Dressing (delicious), Zucchini Cacio e Pepe with Brown Butter (a little bland, but didn’t use the brown butter; sprinkle of salt cured it up), Smashed Raspberry White Chocolate Layer Cake (to die for) and my favorite for the month Grilled Caprese Pesto Chicken Skewers.  The chuckle for the month is when Ty asked what are we having exciting and new this month…

Below are highlights of the month divided up to my focus’ Family (and friends), Self, Work and Home.
