The last Christmas book of the year. This is an enjoyable story of family dynamics where one person does not fit in/is not like the others. Opportunities presented themselves (with the help of mom) in which the main character, Carmen, learns the importance of family and community, and of course, a romance blossomed (it’s a Christmas book).
I was captured with Carmen’s sarcastic personality and general view of life, which was very self-centered. I kept reading because little by little (with humor mixed in) her relationship in seeing others in a different light, while still remaining her sarcastic/fun self, slowly changes her. The romance was a bit long and uninteresting…until the end.

Sounds like a pretty good book overall, I’ll add it to my TBR list.

It was. The family dynamics was great…Carmen is very different. It was interesting to see how she changed as well as her sister. Romance piece, not so dynamic.

Yeah I think sometimes the author drops the ball in one part of it but at least the rest was great.

It was on mine too and never got to reading it either until I walked into the library’s shelf of recommended Christmas reading (literally…lol). Wishing you a very happy new year Masha! ❤️
